Plot points only as symbols.
If neither DOT, LINE, or SPLINE are specified then DOT and LINE become
the default.

Plot lines connecting the dots.
If neither DOT, LINE, or SPLINE are specified then DOT and LINE become

Plot spline interpolated data between the dots.
