SHP2RAST
TAE COMMAND LINE FORMAT
shp2rast INP=(A) OUT=(B) PARMS
where
A is a an input Esri Shape format file
B is a prefix used to generate output VICAR image file names
suffix is an optional filename suffix
minLat, maxLat, minLon, maxLon limit cell file generation
fg, bg specify polygon fill and background values
pixperdeg sets the rasterization resolution
OPERATION
The input file must be in Esri Shapefile format, including only
SHPT_ARC and SHPT_POLYGON types, which are both treated as polygons.
The input file shape vector points are assumed to have x, y values
respectively in the ranges -180 to 180 and -90 to 90. The world
extent is divided into 1x1 degree cells. Each cell that is within
the AOI specified by the min/max Lon/Lat parms and has shape data
will be rasterized and have a square VICAR image generated, with the
NL, NS = the pixperdeg parm. The 1x1 degree cell is filled with the
bg parm value. Then polygons are filled using the fg parm value.
The output files are named with the lon/lat of their lower left
corners and any output name and suffix provided respectively as OUT
and SUFFIX parms:
preYyyXxxxsuf
where pre is the OUT parm, suf is the SUFFIX parm, Y is either n or
s, yy is a zero-filled latitude, X is either w or e, xxx is a
zero-filled longitude. OUT defaults to "mask_". SUFFIX defaults to
".img". Use the margin keyword to add a one-pixel margin on the bottom
and right edges, for tiling overlap, as is done with DTED.
